Oak Lea

From deepest shadows of tallest trees,
across the sun lit forest lea,
In shadows of a fading fire,
I watch the tribe about their day.

The air grows cold, evening falls,
They celebtatr the night away
Still...unsure of why I'm here,
I see the tribal effigy.

Sinking deep within the trees,
shadows leap from leaf to leaf,
familiarity alights like screams,
the effigy I see is me...
